Mental Health First Aid Certification Course
9:00 AM Dec 1 - 4:00 PM Dec 2, 2026

There are few careers in Saskatchewan as rewarding and rooted in community as being an insurance broker. Like any service-oriented profession, however, the impacts of an evolving industry — and fast-changing customer demands — can take its toll. In fact, a 2025 IBAS survey found that four out of every five brokerage principals described the mental health of their teams as either somewhat challenged or very challenged.
That’s why IBAS and Saskatchewan Blue Cross have teamed up in 2026 to launch the HeadsTogether Initiative — a new pilot program designed to connect IBAS member brokerages and their employees with resources to help shed the stigma around mental health, strengthen communities of support, and improve well-being.
This following training opportunity has been made possible through that partnership.
Course Information
The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification Course stands as the premier, national standard for strengthening your team. This comprehensive training provides the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize changes in mental health, respond supportively, and apply practical actions — for both declining well-being and in acute crisis situations.
Designed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada, and delivered by Angellah and Jim Brayshaw of Sask Mental Health, the two-day MFHA program helps students foster a culture of true psychological safety and results directly in MFHA certification, which is valid for three years.
